Nature and man are a perfect combination to create a quality wine.

The terraced vineyards, located at different heights, allow us to get the best from the territory of Caldaro.

“I have a clear idea of what mine should be like Lagrein: I want it full-bodied and to be tasted at the end of the day, in a moment of absolute relaxation.

I chose to cultivate Lagrein in a vineyard near the lake, in one of the few areas of Caldaro that is particularly suited to this variety.”

The Lagrein is one of the leading red grape varieties in South Tyrol. It is a native variety that prefers warm, gravelly or sandy soils, from which intense and deep ruby red wines with great character are obtained. Lagrein loves the Mediterranean climate that gives it delicate scents of berries, cherries and violets.

Annata Vinification
The grapes, which have reached perfect ripeness, are picked by hand. The berries, separated from the stalks, are left to ferment and macerate for about 15 days. After the racking process, the wine is left to mature for about 12 — 15 months in small 225-liter French oak barrels, before being assembled in steel tanks.

Aging technique
Aging in bottle for about 6 — 8 months.

Perfume
The nose has herbal scents and smells of dark chocolate, cranberry and blackberry.

Gusto
On the palate it is fresh, enveloping and harmonious, with a pleasant acidity.

Store the bottle in a horizontal position in a cool place, with high humidity and constant temperature.
Make sure it is well protected from light.

Large glasses for barricaded red wines

Pairings
It goes perfectly with a platter of cold cuts, cold cuts, fresh herbal cheeses and ricotta.
It elegantly accompanies beef tartar and appetizing spinach dumplings.
